Magical Mystical Icicle

Is it so innocent, brazenly lounging

Naked in front of all senses and energy

It is not far away hiding out of sight

It is as near as near can be

We are elsewhere, we are afar

No! it has attractiveness and coyness

It attracts the keen engineer

Like secret schoolchild schemes

Searching for magisterial penguins

It has chosen the southern aspect

The colder and drier testbed for life

No polar bears, reindeers or foxes roam

No human residents

Only the flying and swimming visitors

And the mad scientists from middle earth

Huddling like insect eggs in a pod

It doesn’t issue passports, that would contaminate

The energy dynamic shaping an idealistic drama

We would shed tears for its pure existence, its beingness

Like unhatched life in a Frankenstein spoof

A foundation for life in ice
