Addiction

The brain is the addict

The body pays with its flesh

The brain enjoys the experience

And it retains the memory

The stamp of passage

Substance substitutes softly

The vacuum needy space

In the brains vast vista

Where is the stimulant

The child of enjoyment

The slave of struggle

Give me a stressor

A weight upon which

To rest my heaviness

That I may push

Away the lost-ness of

Non-identity

Let me hear a voice

Struggling with its

Subject balancing fears

And tears to joy and

Never ending wondering

Show me light dressed

With colours tight

Let the earth sweat

Reach into my inner

Calculus to pinpoint

My love
