Rain rain in my eye

The people’s tears cry

No hope in sight

To lighten their plight

The dollar and the euro

Are playing life like Ludo

We are all together

You must enjoy the weather!

While it lasts forever

The climate is clever

It burns and bakes

To cover all our aches

Some people are in pain

Some are on a higher plain

It is all the same you see

No difference to you and me

Some are born free

Some are not you see

We get the news

Of arriving queues

Mr Unterguggenberger

Proposed a new wager

Why not balance out

The euro dollar fallout

He gave us the Worgl

It made the people chortle

But the banks did burble

Afraid the system would curdle

A new library full of books

Not a street full of crooks

A new school to energise

And make us future wise

The children laughed

The banks coughed

The serious ones frowned

And Mr Unterguggenberger drowned

Mick Unterguggenberger

A descendent of the famous burgher

Has read his antecedents story

He wants to recreate the glory

The workers orchestra

For society Saint Cecilia

Played the memory song

People hummed all day long

Mr Unterguggenberger

Where-ever you linger

Please come to town

To stop the people’s frown
