The Mishapen Pearl

Plucked from the heart

Deep in weeping waters

Languid love lingers

Over the still land

Early but mature

Speaking true

With the taught tongue

Of a bird

Ballroom and bothy

Revellers high on life

Winsome and wicked

Postures proud

Not racing

Prancing and preening

Bountiful full bodice

Earthy smooth odours

Purcell gone

Before the middle

His the toned

Misshapen pearl
